The sighting compass is a tool used by experienced navigators and is utilized by NATO Forces across the globe. It is primarily utilized by the infantry as a soldier’s or officer’s compass and comes with a multitude of features. These include measuring scales for GPS positioning, graduation in mils and degrees (6400/360), an integrated adjuster for magnetic declination, a magnifying lens, and rubber feet for precision map work. The compass also has a luminous graduation ring and markings for compass reading in the dark, providing up to 4 hours of light when activated by daylight or a flashlight.

Additionally, it comes with an included scale lanyard and slope card, making it easier to quickly make distance judgments of a route or to plan a route in advance. The compass boasts an impressive level of accuracy, with a deviation of only ± 1° (17.8 mils) and can be used at altitudes of up to 5000m at -15 °C. It also includes a clinometer, declination adjustment, and a magnifying lens. The compass is constructed using durable materials such as acrylic/acetal, PC/ABS, and TPU, and is resistant to impact, withstanding 30g in XYZ directions and free fall from a height of 1.5m into gravel.

Other specifications of the compass include patented red/black N/S lines in the capsule, a resolution of degrees/mils at 2/50, silicon friction feet, a settling time from a 90° angle to complete rest of 5 seconds, a settling time from a 90° angle within ± 3° of 2.7 seconds, and a sighting system with mirror sighting. It is also waterproof and has a weight of 86g, making it an ideal tool for navigating in various outdoor environments.

The compass variant includes options for Magnetic Equator, Magnetic North, and Magnetic South, and includes UTM position plotting scales (Romer scales) of 1:25k and 1:50k. With a temperature operating range of -30 to +60 C, it is a versatile and resilient tool for navigating in diverse conditions.
